Nathan's new friend

When we were in Fort Wayne, at Andy's birthday party, Nathan made a new friend. One of Andy's friends has a 2 1/2 year old son named Evan who is about 2 months younger than Nathan. The 2 boys got along great and entertained each other the entire evening.

Elser Family Weekend

We spent a lovely weekend in Fort Wayne with my family the first weekend in June. There wer a lot of family events going on so it was a great time to visit.
First we went to my cousin Tim's high school graduation party. We had a fun time visiting with my Dad's family, eating delicious cake (thanks Jenni) and watching Tim demonstrate his Catapult.



The next morning we went to Toledo for a memorial service for my Great Aunt Isabel. The grave-side service was beautiful. There were a lot of my mom's family there who we don't get to see very often. After the service we all gathered together for Pizza, Pie and Pop (a Nessle family tradition).



When we got back to Fort Wayne, that afternoon, we went to Andy's to celebrate his 30th Birthday. Nathan got to play in their pool (briefly because it was quite cold). Again we got to eat more of Jenni's delicious cake.


It was a great weekend, full but great.

Long Time

I realize it has been over a month since my last blog. Life at the Wisener house has been hectic to say the least. I definitely do not recommend selling your house when you are 9 months pregnant. Although there is no good time to sell a house (or have a baby for that matter), having both come due at the same time is quite stressful. It should all be over in a week or two. Someday we will look back on these last months a laugh, or at least smile.
I am going to attempt to update my blog to current time so I will be ready to post new information once we are moved and the baby arrives.

New House

We found a new house. Now we have to get to work packing up this house and moving into the new one. We close on both homes June 29th and move on July 1st. Enjoy some pictures we took of the new house.

Home Inspection

Up to this point we have enjoyed living in an older home. It has character and isn't a cookie-cutter home like so many in newer sub-divisions.
Last week was the home inspection on our current home. We went into it thinking there wouldn't be much to do or fix since we have taken good care of our house. The home inspector didn't seem to think so.
There was quite a list submitted by the Buyer of things they wanted fixed. Some of the things were rediculous and petty. After a lot of back and forth negotiations, we finally came to an agreement on what we will do, although it means a lot more money out of our pockets than we had originally anticipated.
-- Radon Mitigation System installed
-- treat for carpenter ants
-- new High Efficiency furnace
-- have a plumber fix the vent from the water heater
-- have an electrician change some circuits and other miscellaneous issues

Jeff's brother and sister-in-law had their second baby this past week, on May 5th.

Listed and Sold

I was planning on getting a blog up with our house listing, but since it took me a week to get that done, our house sold in the meantime. Our house was on the market for only 5 days (which is almost unheard of in the market), and we got almost a full-price offer. We now have 45-55 days until the closing on this house to find a new house and close on it so we can move seamlessly.

We went out this afternoon with our Realtor and saw about a dozen houses. There were only about 2 we would consider seeing again. We are going out again on Tuesday to see a few more. Hopefully we can make a decision soon. Who knew finding a new house would be more stressful than selling our current house.
