37 weeks

I have now officially made it farther in this pregnancy than I did with Nathan. Even with my doctor closely monitoring me for pre-term labor, this baby is staying put in there for the duration.
I have definitely been much more uncomfortable with this pregnancy that with the last. She moves around a lot more than Nathan did, which was neat at first, now I just want a rest.
My 37-week appointment went well. I am 2 cm dilated and she is head-down and ready for delivery (me too!!!). I had another ultrasound to determine the size, since I consistently measure small. Everything looked great, although again her hands were in front of her face and we didn't get any good pictures. She is weighing an estimated 6 pounds, 10 ounces now. That is big enough for me. It is time to come out now.
If I don't deliver this week or next, the doctor is going to induce me on July 7th so either way we will have a baby by then. She doesn't think I will go that long, but who knows.
I will keep you posted on the progress.

Moving Update

We are scheduled to close on both homes and move next week, if all goes as planned and there are no more bumps in the road.
This has been a very bumpy road as far as selling this house and all of the little things that go into it.
If you look back at our previous posts, we did a lot of work to the house to get it ready to sell. We had a budget and stuck to it on the renovations. We did things like replace the ancient stove, new kitchen and bath flooring, new counter tops and a lot of painting.
What we didn't anticipate as all of the repairs we would have to do after we sold the house and once the inspection report came in. We have an older home, that is no secret. Everything is not new and perfect, but we figured the buyers were aware of that fact, obviously not. They got the inspection report and asked for a lot of upgrades that we were not expecting to pay for. Unfortunately to keep the deal, we did have to agree to a number of things that ended up costing us even more money (money we didn't necessarily budget for). We had to install a Radon mitigation system, a new furnace, replace a number of electrical outlets (again), have a plumbing ventilation problem fixed, etc.
If that weren't enough, last month our air conditioner went out suddenly as a result of a spark in our electrical panel. The air conditioner is fine (thank goodness), but the big unfortunate thing is that we had to have the entire panel and electrical line from outside into the house replaced (no small fee).
After all that we thought we were ready; a little poorer, but ready. These new buyers are practically getting a new house after all that.
It can't be that easy.
Just this week (only a week before the scheduled closing), it was discovered that there is an old lien on our property from the previous owner. Apparently when the previous owner got divorced, his ex-wife was owed $8,000 from the sale of the house that she never received. 8 years later, that lien is now $23,000 and is holding up the issuing of a clean title to the new buyer. This is nothing we could have known or anticipated. It will not cost us anything, but it will delay the closing until it can be resolved. Unfortunately we have everything scheduled based on the closing being June 29th (movers, PODS delivery/pick-up, cable installation, etc). We have until the end of business today for this to be resolved or else we will be delayed. Of course if we delay the sale of this house, we have to then delay the purchasing of the new house since we need the money from the sale to buy the new one. It is a snowball effect that involves more than just us.
I will keep you posted. Hopefully everything is resolved soon and we can finally complete this moving process.

Cute picture, had to share

Sleeping Boys

I just had to share a funny couple of pictures of both Jeff and Nathan asleep in the car.

A great new park

The seminary in Fort Wayne just opened a new biblical-themed playground a week or so before we were visiting. On Sunday afternoon before we left to come home, we visited the park. It was a great playground with lots of neat climbing things, swings and fun activities for kids of all ages. Nathan had a great time showing off his playground skills to his Mamaw.

Nathan's new friend

When we were in Fort Wayne, at Andy's birthday party, Nathan made a new friend. One of Andy's friends has a 2 1/2 year old son named Evan who is about 2 months younger than Nathan. The 2 boys got along great and entertained each other the entire evening.

Elser Family Weekend

We spent a lovely weekend in Fort Wayne with my family the first weekend in June. There wer a lot of family events going on so it was a great time to visit.
First we went to my cousin Tim's high school graduation party. We had a fun time visiting with my Dad's family, eating delicious cake (thanks Jenni) and watching Tim demonstrate his Catapult.

The next morning we went to Toledo for a memorial service for my Great Aunt Isabel. The grave-side service was beautiful. There were a lot of my mom's family there who we don't get to see very often. After the service we all gathered together for Pizza, Pie and Pop (a Nessle family tradition).

When we got back to Fort Wayne, that afternoon, we went to Andy's to celebrate his 30th Birthday. Nathan got to play in their pool (briefly because it was quite cold). Again we got to eat more of Jenni's delicious cake.

It was a great weekend, full but great.

Long Time

I realize it has been over a month since my last blog. Life at the Wisener house has been hectic to say the least. I definitely do not recommend selling your house when you are 9 months pregnant. Although there is no good time to sell a house (or have a baby for that matter), having both come due at the same time is quite stressful. It should all be over in a week or two. Someday we will look back on these last months a laugh, or at least smile.
I am going to attempt to update my blog to current time so I will be ready to post new information once we are moved and the baby arrives.
