Norah 2 months
Norah is growing like a weed. She had her 2 month well-baby check-up today. The doctor said she is doing great and looks beautiful (we could have told him that). She is right on target for weight and height at 9# 14.5 oz (25%) and 21.5 in (25%). Norah sleeps 8-9 hours each night and is eating at the top of the scale. The doctor did have one minor concern, which was a concern of ours as well. She is developing Plagiocephaly, which is a fancy term for a flat head. This is very common in babies now since parents are told to put their babies to sleep on their backs to reduce the risk of SIDS. Norah favors her right side when she is on her back so she has developed a flat spot on the right back of her head. The doctor also said her neck muscles are asymmetrical which is adding to the problem. We are going to have her evaluated by a physical therapist and will be working with her at home to correct the problem. Most of the therapy is repositioning her head when she is laying on her back and doing more tummy time when she is awake. Hopefully these treatments will correct the condition and she will not have to wear a helmet, which would be the next step.

Oh, no! Asher had this (torticollis and plagiocephaly). We diligently did those exercises (10 times a day), and didn't require a helmet. His head is perfect today, so take heart, they will work!
